Empowering opportunities for 15-18 Year Olds
LIGC is a non-profit social enterprise run by a team of educators and experts in sustainability, based in Oxford, UK. Our city is home to some of the world’s leading experts and businesses involved in solving our current sustainability challenges and we have created a range of fantastic opportunities to inspire today’s teenagers.
In July we take groups of 15 students (a mix on international students and Oxford locals), and introduce them to scientists, entrepreneurs, and communication experts to learn, discuss and debate. The weeks are themed to suit particular interests. The students build knowledge, skills and confidence - and leave us fired up and motivated to use their current and future studies to ensure they become leaders in global change.
In April we are hosting two Careers Conferences to show teenagers what exciting opportunities are opening up for them as the world changes. One is focused on “green” careers: from environmental law through solar engineering to communications. The other is focused on the latest science and technology that is evolving to solve human problems from antibiotic resistance to new battery technology.
